Alicia recapped the work we did last week, reminding the Cardinals about the story called Mary Wears What She Wants.  Today we continued to learn about how we are all special in many different and same ways and one of the ways is "clothes". We ALL wear clothes but our choices are different.  Alicia then read us the book called Julián is a Mermaid which is a story about a boy who wanted to be a mermaid and his abuela (grandmother) helping him to fulfill his dream. It's very important that adults in children's lives do our best to help them explore and reach their dreams. The message today was that there are no "boy clothes" or "girl clothes," just simply "clothes." As Alicia said, the clothes in her closet and drawers are not girl or boy clothes, they are simply "Alicia's clothes". The Cardinals also practiced singing Head-N-Shoulders and Mi cuerpo hace música in preparation for our Lower School assembly in one week!! Today it was Phoenix's turn to squeezed la vaca!

Josh was absent today but the Cardinals went to the gym and created our own gym class. Friends participated in racing games, doing laps, having conversation, problem solving and social skills!

Thursday

The Cardinals started Spanish class by doing an amazing job with settling their bodies and participating in moment of silence! We practiced singing Head-N-Shoulders in Spanish and Mi cuerpo hace música in preparation for our Lower School assembly in one weeks!! After, to reinforce last class' learning, Alicia introduced us to the Spanish name of some of the clothing we wear. We repeated after her for each article such as dress - vestido, skirt - falda, shirt - camisa, long-sleeved shirt - camisa de mangas largas, pants - pantalón, short - pantalón corto, and blouse - blusa.  We finished class by playing a swatter game of listening to the article of clothing Alicia called out in Spanish and then tapping that picture with the swatter. Today it was Riley's turn to squeeze la vaca!

In art class with Amanda we completed our art project that we have been working on for the past two art classes. Amanda told us that we were going to cover our leave art with mod podge. Followed by adding our coffee filter paper art work that friends made a few art class ago. Back in our classroom, we had a class discussion and decided to call our Friday's game time - Friday Fun Games. This week we played Candyland, snail pace and go fishing. Friends worked in groups of three or four. The time span for games is 30-40 minutes and so we explained to the Cardinals that in order to complete a game. We will not have the time to play each game. However, the teachers made a list of which games friends want to play. So friends can have a chance to play the game they wanted the next time.  Ask your Cardinal which game they played and what they though about it!

                              Have a nice weekend!!
