Monday
Spring Break News
Adam - I play with my mom-mom. I went through Virginia and I went to South Carolina. I went to two hotels. I went to Florida to see my Meme and I play with her. I launch a rocket ship in the air.
Ekin - I made a puzzle and I stay home and eat some food.
Phoenix - I went to Virginia and saw my cousins and I play with them. I play six squares. I went to Washington D.C. and I fly my cousin's kite. I ate chocolate cover pretzels. I play with my brother.
Riley - Well, I was sad cause I was sick. I play with my toys and watch tv.
Shanga - I went to Canada. We stay in the hotel and we had fun. We saw the waterfall and we went to the Hershey place. We play some games.
James - I go to Florida and I sleep in a nice hotel. We live on the 16th floor and our room was number 20. I took two airplanes, one to Florida and the other one to get back home. I go to the beach and the pool. I go to two Philly's game at Florida. It was fun, that's all.
Sidney - I was eating my breakfast and I saw a real Cardinal bird outside in the tree. It had red on the back of his tail and red on the top. I stay home with my dad and I ate food, I watch a movie with my mom and dad and my sister.
Blaise - I went to the Y and I play basketball. I was at my home with Tata and papa. I went to the playground and shoot some hoops. I got new shoes. They're kinda like Cooper's.
Angeline - I bike and I can bike by myself now. I went on an airplane to California. I saw my cousins. We play together. I went to a Funeral.
Cooper - I stay home and we eat breakfast before we go to a place. We pick out something for the dogs. I play outside with Lidia.
Hayden - I stay with grandma and I read to grandma. I read the book Couch potato. I got a new toy and I watch Mini Force. I had playdate with Blaise.
Lily - I got my nails done. I make a house with my Magna-tiles and I play with my toys. I eat some food and that's it.
Oz - I went to Jumpy Bay in Antigua. I swim in the pool and I go to the beach. I go to camp for kids and it was not fun. I went to Dallas and I went to the toy store. I go skiing with my family.
Jackson - My Gigi come to my home. I play outside and play basketball with Gigi. I watch some of Black Panther movie but not all. I play hot wheels with Jaylen.
It was really nice to see how much the Cardinals missed each other over Spring break. Friends came into the classroom and immediately began chatting. The many many conversations were so wonderful to see and hear. What a great Cardinal's community we have!
On Angeline's airplane ride to California, she got the Cardinals snacks and flight crew wings from American Airlines. Thanks to Angeline and her family for thinking of us on their trip!!
Josh told the Cardinals that the equipment in the gym has been sad because no one was here at school to play with them over Spring break. Josh told friends that they need to play with lots of equipment. He continued to say that by making the equipment happy that we are also keeping our bodies healthy and strong by running, jumping and stretching. And that our hearts are saying thank you, to us by beating fast.
After gym class, we stopped by to say hello to Angeline's dad (Nate) and Cooper's mom (Lisa). Friends played with molecular structures (balloons) in Lisa's chemistry room.
Tuesday
The Cardinals worked on their clay prints in which they painted and then used sponges to give definition to their work.
Wednesday
This morning we began Meeting for Worship in the meetinghouse at 8:30 am, which is the time for the whole Lower school to be in the Meetinghouse on Wednesdays. We settled into silence and then after a while, Andrea read the book Yoon, which was about being confident and proud of yourself and who your family is!!
The Cardinals began music class by warming up to Boogie Boogie Kangaroo. After moment of silence, singing our Jambo hello song and our Here's a Bunny chant. The Cardinals paired up in twos to row boats together as we sing and make movements such as float, gliding, splashing and looking at birds. The Cardinals practice what glopping looks like with Keisha. As Keisha played her guitar and sang, the Cardinals needed to listen carefully for the movement parts as Keisha called them out and then act them out to the song, The Pony glopping down the county lane. We began learning a new song called Little Seed.
Thursday
The Cardinal did a wonderful job counting from 1-20 in Spanish. Friends then with Alicia's help counted by 10s to 100 all in Spanish. After going over shapes in Spanish, Alicia gave each Cardinals a dry erase board and marker. Friends were given some time to draw anything of their choice, using shapes. Friends then told Alicia what they drew and the shapes they used in Spanish. Great work Cardinals!! Today it was Ekin's turn to squeezed la vaca.
We began working on a journal entitled, "What did you do over Spring break?" Friends rotated through three stations as they worked on journals, with magna-tiles and an art project.
Friday
Adam's Papa and daddy made steering wheels for our Cardinal's Cotton Airline. Friends were very excited to see them and couldn't wait to play.

Today AFS had a practice fire drill. We talked to the Cardinals letting them know what to expect as we did not have a time frame and answered questions from friends. The Cardinals did an amazing job with following directions and getting outside in silence. Ask your Cardinal what we do at school for a practice fire drill?
Ashanti read us the book The Perfect Nest, which was about eggs being hatched with different animals inside and lots of humor along the way. The Cardinals were in stitches because of the funnies of the story. Ashanti asked the Cardinals to make predictions as to what was going to happen next in the book as she read the story. Ask your Cardinal what was funny about the book?
