The Cardinal artists enter the art room ready for art class. Amanda said we were going to do a special drawing called Observation drawing. Amanda went on to say that our drawing will be of flowers and that we would be looking for all the important details of the flowers before drawing. The Cardinals then helped Amanda figure out the shapes and ways to make an observation drawing before creating their own. Friends used white paper, black sharpies and colored markers to complete their work.
Wednesday
Meeting for worship with our second grade buddies and the whole lower school was great on this sunny day! Friends walked over chatting but soon settled into silence and Andrea read the book A Letter To My Teacher. After we settled back into silence and finished up with Keisha guiding us in singing This little light of Mine.
In Music class, we practice for our Lower School Spring Programs which will be on 6/2, 1st-4th grades 9am and EC/Kindergarten at 10:45am. The Cardinals also enjoyed singing, dancing and acting out some of their favorite songs. Keisha was so proud of the Cardinals leading music class in her absences last week.
Thursday
In Spanish class with Alicia the Cardinals reviewed the parts of an airplane and then played a game called What is missing. Alicia put out three cards and covered them. She then took one away from under the cover and the Cardinals had to guess which one was missing. The Cardinals were very excited about this learning game. Great work Cardinals!! Ask your Cardinal about the game. The Cardinals then continues by playing a game of swatter in which the Cardinals were the teachers and called out the words in Spanish that friends needed to find. Another job well done Cardinals!! Today it was Shanga's turn to squee la vaca!
